General Summary of Position
Key Responsibilities
Reports to the Director of WHFBC. Renders professional guidance to provide optimum assistance to nursing mothers and their infants to attain a successful nursing relationship. Functions as an adult educator in a variety of settings and with a variety of audiences. The Lactation Consultant functions as a teacher, facilitator and coach and demonstrates expertise in theories, methods and strategies relative to adult learning.

Qualifications
- BSN or MSN from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
- Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant Current IBCLC certification required

Experience
- Teaching experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current Maryland RN licensure required and
- IBCLC - International Board Certified Lactation Consultant Current IBCLC certification required or
- ability to be certified during the next available testing cycle. required
This position has a hiring range of $41.98 - $71.68
