Unit Highlights
MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's Spine Surgery, Neuro Medical & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (C5-3) is a recently renovated, all private room, 14-bed adult Neuro Medical and Spine Surgery Unit. C5-3 nurses work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to provide high-quality, patient-centered, specialty care. Two of C5-3's 14 beds are specialized Epilepsy Monitoring beds, featuring state-of-the-art Natus monitoring to care for patients with epilepsy or seizure-like activity. These patients are on 24hr video EEG monitoring and may be candidates for Ictal-SPECT scans to determine the area of the brain that is generating their seizures. The patient population for the remaining beds is a mix of postoperative adult neurosurgical patients with brain and spine disorders, general medicine patients, and neurological patients, including Multiple Sclerosis patients who may require intravenous immunoglobulin treatment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications
- ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
- Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
This position has a hiring range of $38.00 - $63.30
