General Summary of Position
The Regional Director of Medical Staff Operations is an operational leadership role within MedStar Health, responsible for overseeing and enhancing the operational efficiency of medical staff services across multiple regionally based entities. Plays a crucial role in supporting medical credentialing, privileging, and related activities, ensuring these processes are conducted effectively, in compliance with regulatory standards, and with a focus on continuous improvement. Lead initiatives aimed at optimizing operations, increasing customer satisfaction, and fostering collaboration across the healthcare system.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree In health/hospital administration or related field required and
- Master's degree preferred
- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience
- 5-7 years Progressive experience managing and leading medical staff functions for a large academic medical center or health system including direct oversight of medical staff credentialing. required and
- 8-10 years Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance as it relates to the organized Medical Staff. required and
- Demonstrated experience in credentialing, privileging, physician performance/peer review processes and working with physician leaders preferred
- One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Licenses and Certifications
- CPMSM - Certified Professional Medical Services Management Upon Hire preferred and
- National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) certification Upon Hire preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of business tools such as Microsoft office or like products.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state regulations and standards for the provision of professional education of healthcare providers.
- Exemplary and timely customer service approach in communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Skilled problem solver, with ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities, workloads, and timelines.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; rigorous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to strict deadlines independently and/or on a team.
- Self-directed, self-motivated team player, critical thinker; experienced at effectively leading a team.
This position has a hiring range of $111,779 - $201,427
