Job Summary:

MedStar Health is seeking a Product Line Specialist to join our Materials Management team. This position is remote but has a requirement to attend 1 monthly meeting in White Marsh, MD.

As a Product Line Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert regarding products, services and equipment within MedStar's service line. You will work closely with the Service Line Sourcing Manager and Clinical Value Analysis Specialist. This position requires direct involvement with departments in committing significant institutional dollars in the procurement of supplies, services and equipment, while resolving customer services issues and ensure that all established service levels of the Service Line team are met.

Primary Duties:

·       Assist customers with obtaining information, reviewing purchase requisitions to ensure pricing and sourcing accuracy, conversion of requisitions to purchase orders, and order placement/expediting

·       Benchmarks equipment quotations to national databases (MD Buyline; ECRI) and other appropriate sources.

·       Expedite orders to ensure timely deliveries.

·       Communicate with vendors on a daily basis validating information to ensure a timely delivery in compliance with requirements.

·       Coordinate with internal customers, Accounts Payable, Receiving and suppliers to resolve invoice and receipt problems including contacting external customers to assist in resolving problem invoices.

·       Review cost messages daily and respond to Cost Message Report within 72-hours providing documentation on how the discrepancy was resolved or what steps have been taken towards a resolution.

·       Document back orders and estimated ship dates and other appropriate comments on purchase order delivery.

·       Drive optimal utilization of the Materials Management Information System (Peoplesoft) to ensure capabilities are being optimized and related policies, procedures and processes are adhered to.

·       Optimize use of MedStar Health Group Purchasing Organization contract portfolio.

·       Maintain knowledge of contract law, uniform commercial code regulations and other regulatory agency requirements (e.g. FDA).

·       Ensure data integrity and optimize Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

 

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Healthcare preferred.

·       Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) and Certified Materials Resource Professional (CRMP) preferred.
