Description

We are recruiting for an experienced outpatient / community Pharmacist to join our MedStar Pharmacy DC locations on a PRN basis.  Shifts that will need coverage are 10:30am-7:15pm Monday - Friday and 8am - 4pm Saturdays.  Dual-licensed Pharmacist in both DC and MD is a plus.  

Evaluates drugs prescribed by physicians for appropriateness of dose, therapeutic efficacy, allergy, drug interaction, and contraindications; processes prescriptions through insurance company and handles DUR rejects, pre-authorizations, etc.; performs final check on all prescriptions, ensuring accurate input, labeling, and dispensing; and, provides counseling and drug information to patients and physicians. • Licensed as a pharmacist in the District of Columbia (DC) required

• 1-2 years Pharmacy experience, preferably in retail required

• PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist - Current DC Pharmacist license, including Immunization/Vaccination Certification and registration with the board of pharmacy in that district. required
• CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required

• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
