MedStar Health is looking for a Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Specialist to join our team at MedStar Franklin Square Hospital!


The Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for supporting quality improvement initiatives, managing the hospital's Patient Safety Event Management (PSE) system, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role works with clinicians and leadership to reduce medical errors and enhance patient safety through process improvement, data analysis, and education.

Primary Duties:

·        Coordinate and support Patient Safety and Quality meetings and chart reviews.

·        Identify quality improvement opportunities and lead process improvement initiatives using tools like Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).

·        Manage the PSEMS system, ensuring accurate data entry and analysis.

·        Prepare reports and present findings to leadership.

·        Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (CMS, Joint Commission) through audits and readiness activities.

·        Collaborate with Risk Management and other departments on safety initiatives.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or related field.

·        3-4 years of experience in patient safety and administration, preferably in healthcare.

·        Strong communication, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.

·        Knowledge of regulatory standards and accreditation processes.

 



This position has a hiring range of $70,428 - $131,310
