Primary Duties:
Supports, comforts and assists families of patients who are waiting for diagnostic test results or who are admitting and/or delayed in the ED, traveling back and forth between the ED waiting room/holding area and core area.
Collaborates with nursing staff, volunteers, support staff, attending physicians in order to facilitate and support timely and private communication and information on the patients progress to families and/or friends throughout the entire department stay/process
Assists with guiding patient families such as hospital resources and facilities and their locations
Rounds and addresses areas of concern on all patients
Qualifications:
Associate degree required
Prior physician office or acute care experience required
Medical terminology required
