General Summary of Position
We are actively recruiting for an experienced clinical pharmacy leader to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC in the role of Operations Manager, Pharmacy Business. This position will primarily be responsible for pharmacy informatics, automation, analytics and finance. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree B.S. degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy required
- On-the-Job Training or a hospital pharmacy residency program or equivalent experience required
Experience
- 1-2 years experience as a hospital pharmacist, in a progressive clinical environment required
- Some supervisory experience required
Licenses and Certifications
- PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist Current DC license as a Pharmacist required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology and related sciences.
- Knowledge of chemical, biological, and comparative therapeutic properties of a wide range of drugs.
- Knowledge of management, and Federal/Local laws and regulations. Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills; ability to provide direction to others; ability to work under stress.
- Ability to perform computerized procedures.
- Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age groups; geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and neonate.
- Must demonstrate knowledge in the relationship of age and the proper selection of drugs and drug pharmacokinetics in various age groups.
- Annual performance appraisals will measure the level of knowledge and skills maintained through the use of criteria based job standards.
- Employees must maintain a satisfactory level of knowledge and skills to continue employment.
This position has a hiring range of $139,276 - $263,744
