MedStar Health has a unique opportunity for a Laboratory Program Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the point person, responsible for the coordination and support of technical and administration duties in the Clinical Laboratory department within MedStar Health.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required and
- Associate's degree Business courses, administrative training, Anatomic Pathology or Laboratory related experience preferred
- 2 years job-related experience in a Laboratory required and
- 3-4 years Administrative/secretarial experience required and
- Medical office, hospital or ambulatory setting preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with stakeholders and all levels of management, internal departments and external agencies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to meet department and organization objectives.
- Strong customer service-oriented PR skills, problem solving and time management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experience with procurement, supply chain, and finance processes, including having the ability to understand budget statements and work with accounting and vendors to resolve discrepancies.
- Knowledge of email applications and performing web searches is necessary. Knowledge of hospital operations, medical terminology and Anatomic Pathology is desirable.
- Transcription skills may be required.
