General Summary of Position
Coordinates and instructs training programs for healthcare professionals. Programs may include American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Life Support (ALS) or American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)/American Heart Association (AHA) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the clinical and marketing efforts of the Clinical Simulation Center.
  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Maintains instruction/training aids and equipment.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams and committees. Participates in meetings and on committees as requested.
  • Participates in other quality education programs for healthcare providers, including Code Blue Preparedness, In Situ, Advanced refresher courses and conferences.
  • Plans and instructs Continuing Education Courses for healthcare professionals and lay rescuer within the AHA guidelines.
  • Plans, coordinates and instructs AHA advanced courses including, but not limited to, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or AAP/AHA NRP courses.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Credentialed by relevant professional association required

    Experience

    • 1-2 years Related teaching experience required
    • One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

    Licenses and Certifications

    • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
    • Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
    • Health Services\ACLS INSTRC - ACLS Instructor current American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS required or
    • Health Services\PALS INSTRC - PALS Instructor PALS instructor certification if supporting ALS training program required and
    • Health Services\NRP INSTRC - NRP Instructor AAP NRP certification if supporting NRP training program required

    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Effective teaching skills.


    This position has a hiring range of $29.34 - $44.83
