As a Respiratory Director, you will be responsible for Respiratory Therapy operations. Responsible for planning, organizing and directing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Works closely with senior management and medical leadership to promote high quality patient care, and efficient and effective operations. Ensures diagnostic and therapeutic programs comply with hospital and regulatory standards. Manages departments and establishes policies, procedures, standards and objectives for the treatment of patients. In conjunction with senior management, works with MedStar Health to develop collaborative programs and services.

Primary Duties:
Develops department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget. Manages the resources of the cardiopulmonary department to meet hospital volumes and patient needs.
Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts as required. Develops and implements new critical and general care procedures.
Responsible for competency assessment and validation of all cardiopulmonary staff. Responsible for departmental corrective action activities. Responsible for implementation and maintenance of MedStar associate assessment and development system. Responsible for the development and maintenance of departmental quality assurance program.
Selects, trains, orients, and assigns department staff. Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and conducts performance management planning. Initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions. Maintains ongoing communication with subordinates to review programs, provide feedback, discuss new developments, and exchange information. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare field
8-10 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
3-4 years of management experience
Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner's license in the State of Maryland
NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist
CPR-Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
Master's degree in healthcare field preferred.
