Description

Supports Operational Communications by overseeing strategy, development and execution of system-wide communications and communication vehicles. The director is primarily responsible for executing system-wide communication to proactively and positively position MedStar Health and operational initiatives, serves as an Operational Communications liaison, manages additional vehicles for communications as assigned, and closely aligns communications, events and intranet with overall communication strategy.
Education

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related field required
• Master's degree in Business, Communications or Healthcare is preferred

• 10+ years Progressive communications and management experience with demonstrated knowledge of strategic communications required and
• Specific experience in hospital/provider-side arena of health care and both client and project management experience preferred

• No special certification, registration or licensure required

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong project management skills required.
• Management of, and experience with, writing, editing, and publishing system-wide communication vehicles to include, associate and management publications, database software applications, Website design, and intranet (i.e., SharePoint).
• Self-motivated.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage details of multiple communications vehicles to varying audiences.
