General Summary of Position
Serves as a CME liaison to Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS), special, and enduring activities sponsored by MedStar throughout their development and implementation for compliance with ACCME Essentials and Standards and department of CME policies and procedures. Responsible for monitoring quarterly Activity Reports for CME compliance.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Assists physician activity directors, clinical department staff, including coordinators with the activity application process, maintenance of accurate and compliant records of attendance, faculty management, faculty conflict of interest disclosure, clinical content review, and commercial support.
  • Contributes to achieving and maintaining national Continuing Medical Education (CME) accreditation through the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
  • Coordinates materials for Final CME activity reports with required components as per ACCME guidelines.
  • Inputs and uploads data related to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit in the CloudCME database.
  • Maintains updated tracking system for the above. Responsible for the receipt and the completeness of CME RSS Reporting.
  • Monitors and supports CME, Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS), special and enduring activities throughout their development and implementation for compliance with ACCME Essential and Standards and department of CME policies and procedures.
  • Participates in educational planning meetings. Provides support to physicians and other professionals in determining educational needs and learning objectives, determining modes of educational delivery, selection of faculty, and evaluating overall efforts and outcomes.
  • Provides conference coordination support for conferences including registration and faculty coordination and communication.
  • Provides general office support, including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, and audiovisual support.
  • Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts. Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Associate's degree required
    • Bachelor's degree preferred

    Experience

    • 1-2 years Experience relating to office administration and coordination required and
    • Prior CME experience preferred

    Licenses and Certifications

    • No special certification, registration or licensure required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Verbal and written communication skills.
    • Basic computer skills.


    This position has a hiring range of $23.19 - $38.49
