Description
Maxim Healthcare Services is currently seeking Registered Nurses (RN) for a one on one school nursing position! We are looking for a RN who is committed and passionate to having a major positive impact on a child's life.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement and evaluate student's care needs
2. Demonstrates on each assignment the provision of skill nursing care in accordance with
prescribed orders/IHP
3. Performs interventions, treatments and medications administration according to the identified
priorities as outlined in the IHP
4. Monitors and documents effectiveness of interventions, treatments and medications
5. Completes documentation per client expectations
6. Coordinates and facilitates services as requested between the school, local health agencies and
other community resources to meet the needs of the student
7. Communicates with the school district personnel about student's plan of care/IHP
8. Notifies District School Nurse/Maxim Supervisor /Parent/Physician as outlined in the IHP
regarding the following:
o Changes in condition of student
o Physician notification to obtain necessary orders
9. Collaborates with school/education personnel/other health agencies as requested, to design
and meet student's health care needs
10. Evaluates and assures student safety at all times
11. Adheres to Maxim Healthcare and school district policies
12. Maintains accuracy in student health record
13. Supports professional practice by observing the following:
o Nurse Practice Act
o Standards of Nursing Practice
o Standards of Patient Care
o Standards of accrediting body (The Joint Commission)
o State laws
o Educational Codes and Federal Laws as described in the ADA and IDEA
o Patient Bill of Rights
o Maxim Healthcare and school district policies
14. At request of school district participates in student care conferences/Individualized Education Program (IEP)
15. Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
? Graduate of an accredited registered, practical or vocational nursing program
? Licensed as a Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing
? One year of professional experience, preferred
? Complies with accepted professional standard and practice
? Willingness to participate in skill advancement, if applicable
? Participation and completion of Maxim's Competency program
? Current CPR
? PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
? Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
? Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
? Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
? Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
? Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including,
but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency
in the English language may be required
? Computer proficiency required
? Must be at least 18 years of age
