Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the 2nd line Risk function overseeing Enterprise Risk for Vocalink Limited, a company that enables the payments of 90% of salaries, 70% of utility bills, most ATM transactions and every cheque cleared in the UK.

The successful candidate will become part of a high functioning team, dedicated to delivering a robust, secure and resilient service to 60+million citizens every day with transactional volume of 11 billion/year and total annual transactional value in excess of GBP6 Trillion.

The ideal candidate will be able to be responsible for developing the Enterprise Risk Framework to meet the growth needs of Vocalink and for meeting the risk management requirements of our core payments covered by the Vocalink business model including Bacs, Faster Payments, Imaging Cheque System, LINK, Payport, BGC.

Role
The role holder will:
• Be accountable for maintenance and development of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and ensure the Framework is embedded, appropriately assured and applied consistently across policies, metrics, reporting and monitoring
• Ensure that the Framework facilitates continuous improvement of Vocalink's capabilities for management of its highest risks and as far as a possible maintain alignment of the Framework with Mastercard Group
• Maintain the Board's Risk Appetite including annual and periodic reviews and ensure alignment of Risk Appetite with the business strategy and strategic priorities
• Lead the development and maintenance of Risk Infrastructure and Tools that are required to support the Framework
• Support the CRO in compiling MI and documents for the ERC and BRC ensuring the risk governance of the business remains up to date, effective and relevant and that delegated authorities are adhered to
• Support senior management and the Board/Audit Committee in ensuring that risks are mitigated to the desired level
• Manages a team, conducts goal setting and performance appraisal processes, identifies and coaches top talent within own team

All About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following essential skills and experience:
· Essential to have successfully managed and developed risk frameworks throughout a complex, multi-national organisation.
· Essential to have worked at a central bank, and also a regulated entity, to understand regulatory requirements from both perspectives.
· Essential to have experience collaborating cross-functionally to identify and implement best practice risk processes.
· Essential to have demonstrated successful oversight of the management and resolution of high-risk organisational issues to ensure completeness and efficiency.
· Leadership and people management experience.
· Experience within Critical National Infrastructure responsible organisations.
The candidate will have the following desired experience and skills:
• Recent experience of using Risk Management Tools such as IBM Open Pages and Archer
• Strong knowledge of the requirements of good risk governance
• Effective in the production of risk reporting
• Strong knowledge of Operational Risk best practice
• Ability to articulate themselves clearly and concisely to a broad range of senior and junior stakeholders
• Strong influencing skills; organizationally savvy
• Communication - requires effective communication skills – both written and oral - to deal with large diverse customer base (internal and external)
