Overview
The Security Operations Centre is looking for a SOC Security Monitoring and Response Analyst II to continuously monitor, identify, analyse, and investigate Security events triggered by our Security Controls. The Security Operations Centre (SOC) is an integral part of Mastercard's Corporate Security team and continuously monitors, identifies, and manages threats to our technology, data, and assets. The ideal candidate is passionate about information security and technology, highly motivated, analytical, and a team player. The role requires a strong understanding of cutting-edge technology and/or information security principles, analytical thinking, prioritization, and a team-first mentality. In this role, you will:
• Perform triage of identified security events by leveraging various Security technologies to continuously monitor, analyse, prioritize, and investigate it in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate an ability to support security functions within SOC, such as SIEM, Firewalls, IDS/ IPS, DLP, email protection, anti-virus, malware analysis, etc.
• Contribute to maintaining the knowledge base by updating standard operating procedural documentation.
• Actively participate and contribute to the projects to uplift SOC Capabilities by collaborating with global SOC analysts.
• Work collaboratively with security engineering & automation team to review detection content and provide feedback.
• Work with various business units and application owners to resolve security issues and vulnerabilities.
• Apply technical capabilities within own discipline to coach and develop junior resources.

All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
• Experience working in beginner or Intermediate level Security Operation Centre Analyst or Incident response roles.
• Strong ability to think Analytically, critically and apply it to investigate alerts and have problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of security technologies (Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems, Web Proxy, Antivirus, Security Information and Event Management (SIEMs), Endpoint Detection agents, etc.)
• Strong understanding of OSI Model, TCP/IP, MITRE ATT&CK, Kill Chain, Vulnerability Management and Networking principles.
• Good Knowledge of incident response and handling methodologies.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good Experience and Knowledge of Windows or Unix based Operating Systems.
• Relevant industry certifications such as Security+, GCIA, GCIH, or CISSP are a plus.
• Ability to work on the weekend roster for shift coverage and occasional off-hours shift coverage.
