Title and Summary

Senior Specialist, Product Management, Sustainability & Financial Inclusion Who is Mastercard?

Mastercard is a global technology company in the payments industry. Our mission is to connect and power an inclusive, digital economy that benefits everyone, everywhere, anytime by making transactions safe, simple, smart and accessible. Using secure data and networks, partnerships and passion, our innovations and solutions help individuals, financial institutions, and businesses realize their greatest potential.

Overview

One of Mastercard's corporate priorities is to expand sustainability and inclusion. We recognize that today's consumer wants to engage with brands, and companies, that have a distinguishable core purpose. Our strategy in sustainability and inclusion is to drive purpose-driven business through commercially sustainable social impact, at scale.

Mastercard is mobilizing against climate change directly through our business, as well as, by committing to net zero emissions by 2040 and supporting our suppliers' decarbonizing efforts. We are also developing innovations that regenerate natural resources and reduce carbon footprint. And we are leveraging our network effect – giving consumers tools to measure their own carbon footprints and offset their footprint through donations to Priceless Planet.

The Priceless Planet Coalition (PPC) unites corporate sustainability efforts to preserve the environment through restoration of 100M trees by 2030. Together with our growing number of coalition partners, we create impact by combining efforts and engaging businesses and consumers to contribute through fund-raising campaigns.

The Carbon Calculator arms consumers with actionable climate information to support their climate impact journey.

To achieve sustainable social impact, we believe that what we do is as important as who we are. We are connecting people and businesses to achieve financial security, providing workers with the tools they need to thrive in a rapidly changing landscape, ensuring that economic development is inclusive and pioneering in the field of data science for social impact.

We recognize that bringing more people into the digital economy strengthens the ecosystems, empowers the users and leads to inclusive growth. That is why we doubled down on our original financial inclusion commitment to bring a total of 1 billion people and 50 million micro and small businesses into the digital economy by 2025.
