Our Network platform strategy team is a multi-disciplinary team with ownership and accountability to envision & build the next generation of our core network. The network is the company's core strategic asset, directly driving over $8 billion in revenue and providing the platform for our other key services. The team's goal is to ensure the long-term competitiveness of our card network versus alternatives, for existing and new payments use cases; and to grow revenue by delivering more value to our bank customers, as well as cardholders and merchants.
Role Overview:
The role offers an opportunity to join the product team driving functional specifications of Mastercard's products. As a Specialist, you will join the platform strategy team, where you will be responsible for -
• Define technical requirement using ISO 20022 message specifications to develop new products and services or their components.
• Work closely with Mastercard global stakeholders to own and drive product strategy
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Switching solutions to define ISO 20022 message specifications management
• Own release management process for finalized ISO 20022 specifications to ensure successful product/feature launches
• Support the development and market rollout of functional upgrades and new product offerings
• Propose and drive changes to Mastercard rules or programs to drive outcomes beneficial to the ecosystem, including cardholders, merchants and financial institution customers
• Present overviews of your approach, proposals and progress to key decisionmakers and Product leadership
An ideal candidate should have:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience (required)
• 5+ years of Product management/development/owner experience (preferred)
• Professional experience of working with ISO 8583 format (required)
• Experience/knowledge in ISO 20022 message specs management (preferred)
• Basic data extraction skills (SQL/Python) (preferred)
• Passionate and knowledgeable about technology, innovation, payments and digital commerce.
• Business-oriented and strategic mindset in product development and decision-making
• Knowledge of basic agile software development and product lifecycle concepts
• Ability to understand, interpret and analyze financial information
• Superior communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate with minimal supervision and make informed decisions independently
• Experience in presenting and communicating complex/detailed topics
• Strong ability to multi-task, organize, manage, and implement complex projects
• High attention to detail and a self-starter, who can work independently and adjust to shifting prio
