Senior Specialist, Product Development - Foundry Start Path Mastercard Foundry is a global innovation group focused on the evolution of technology and consumer trends and the implication of these forces on the payments and commerce industry. Within Foundry, Start Path is Mastercard's award-winning startup engagement team, working with elite startups across the world to drive business with Mastercard and with our customers. The Start Path team is agile, well-connected and has a big vision: to partner with the best startups across the payments ecosystem to build the future of commerce.

We are seeking a Start Path Senior Specialist to support our new networks (open banking, embedded finance, alternative payment methods), digital asset and small business initiatives, working at the intersection between our startups and Mastercard key partners, driving collaboration, innovation and value.

Role

Manage end-to-end track operations for New Networks, Digital Assets and Crypto and Small Business, including activities and processes required to support startups and mentors before, during, and after the program

Contribute to the development and design of the Start Path programming (by track), ensuring it continues to be one of the best corporate-startup engagement experience in the world – exploring startup needs, shaping the curriculum, and measuring success

Contribute to the evaluation, diligence, and selection of startups for the program

Directly support and mentor startups participating in the program

Map out the specific technology and partners needs of global and regional product teams (e.g. Open Banking, Digital Assets, Small Business)

Cultivate effective senior-level relationships internally and externally, building rapport and trust with Mastercard executives and with customers, partners, and investors to drive awareness and interest in the program

Unlock new opportunities for Start Path (e.g. operational efficiencies, startup hypotheses, etc.) and contribute to the deal flow

Recommend relevant Start Path startups for Mastercard sponsored fintech events based on the customer needs

Develop strategic, clear case studies for standout Start Path use cases and projects

Community building through ongoing active portfolio management and active participation in the startup and venture capital community

Support ongoing thought leadership initiatives including organization of Start Path events and content

Research, analyze, and summarize quantitative and qualitative insights and trends collected throughout the course of the Start Path program

Manage all reporting related to Start Path deals, projects and investments

• Passion and belief in the startup and entrepreneurial community and an appreciation for the potential of startup-corporate engagement
• Experience with proven track record in project management, with the ability to demonstrate leading initiatives from strategic planning through tactical execution
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to craft clear and engaging content that effectively conveys key messages
• Ability to quickly learn about new technologies, demonstrating startup subject matter expertise and industry thought leadership
• Results driven, solutions and customer focused, with strong business acumen and sense of urgency

• Demonstrated multi-disciplinary knowledge, i.e. innovative product development, business development, marketing, client relationship management, emerging technologies

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
