Title and Summary
Senior Software Engineer Overview:The Enterprise Data Catalog team is responsible for ensuring data cataloging and metadata discovery is of the highest quality and is fit for purpose to support business and analytic uses. The team works to identify and prioritize opportunities for data catalog and metadata use improvement, develops strategic growth plans, and coordinates any needed remediation activities with O&T and the business owner.
As a JAVA developer, you will:
• Assist in the technical planning & requirements gathering phases including estimate, develop, test, manage projects, architect and deliver.
• Develop API integrations with other product platforms
• Develop metadata and data profiling functions using functions to identify patterns in data
• Develop API methods to retrieve and store critical inputs from other platforms, including data transformations needed for platform transfers
• Actively participate in related technical and programmatic meetings and working groups.
• Think creatively to design methods for system to system data transfers
• Evolve agile deployment methods including CI/CD pipelines, stability testing, and performance monitoring
• Provide technical support or leadership in the development and continual improvement of service.
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience level.
All About You:
• Proficient Experience in Java development
• Proficient Experience in critical design analysis, translation of business needs into software requirements, and 3. developing best practices for API design
• Proficient Experience using Angular JS and/or React JS, jQuery, Bootstrap, or similar libraries.
• Proficient Experience in UI programming with JavaScript, CSS preprocessors SASS or LESS, HTML, and JSON.
• Proficient Experience in developing multi-tier enterprise applications
• Proficient Experience REST API design and deployment handling high transactional volumes
• Proficient Experience performing API integration across multiple data sources (Oracle, Hadoop)
• Experience in CI/CD processes leveraging Jenkins
• Develop architecture patterns for performance, multi-tenancy, and sustainability
• SWAGGER API design and documentation
• Experience developing against multiple backend architectures including HDFS, Postgres, Oracle, SQLserver, MySQL, MongoDB, and Amazon S3
• Prioritize and advise actions of development teams in building and delivering according to roadmap.
