Title and Summary

Senior Analyst, Risk Management Overview

The primary responsibility of the Senior Analyst is to provide support to the risk managers and senior management to help manage Mastercard's Customer Risk Management (CRM) function for the cross-border services globally. The role also involves partnering with our Settlement Operations, team, to manage exposure within Mastercard defined risk appetite and that financial returns for taking such exposures are appropriate.

Mastercard cross-border services has approximately $300M in credit exposure to financial institutions and other counterparties worldwide, placing the CRM role as a key part of its evolving and quickly growing business model. The magnitude and strategic nature of this exposure necessitates periodic engagement with senior management, Mastercard's sales, franchise, and product organizations as well as our customers. Role

The primary responsibility is to support the CRM team globally to ensure cross-border services settlement exposure is appropriately assessed, managed and mitigated in accordance with Mastercard's policies & procedures and risk appetite framework. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Preparation of commercial underwriting documents including review of customer's financial statements & ownership structure; defending underwriting recommendations;
• Support collateral management process end-to end (calculating the amount, raising the request, discussing terms & conditions and follow ups until actual collateral placement);
• Provide in-depth data analysis and day to day to support to CRM team in managing their portfolios;
• Help prepare external and internal CRM-related reporting (SEC filing, audit committee, profit at risk, ad hoc reporting);
• Participate in various process improvement initiatives, most important being cross-border services integration to core CRM systems;
• Also, to assist with “core” CRM related matters to benefit from further opportunities to learn and grow career within Mastercard.

The role will require a good understanding of Mastercard's business model, systems and tools and usage of various data sources relevant for the customer risk management function.

This position will be based in Cairo, Egypt.

All About You

• Postgraduate degree in business, economic, econometric or equivalent graduate degree preferred;
• Proven Experience in credit risk assessment and financial statements analysis; experience in / knowledge of the banking sector and exchange houses are a strong plus;
• Any coding language (VBA, Phyton, R, SQL) a plus;
• Accuracy, detailed, self-drive, accountability and sense of urgency;
• Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills, any knowledge of Arabic is a plus
• Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint user;
• Positive attitude, strong work-ethic and good sense of humor.
