Overview:
Mastercard Services is responsible for acquiring, engaging and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, cybersecurity and improving the digital payments experience while providing value added services and using expertise, data-driven insights and execution. The Business Development Director, in partnership with the existing team, will further drive growth of Mastercard Services in Spain by developing new business and creating strong partnerships with flagship FIs, merchants, fintechs and government around payment solutions and services
Role Description and Major Responsibilities:
• Lead sales efforts and develop new client relationships across all lines of the Services Business for an assigned set of accounts in Spain
• Deliver against sales targets for existing accounts and contribute to Mastercard deal bids
• Identify and address clients' explicit and implicit business needs, translating them into tailored solutions
• Develop and deliver compelling client presentations and proposals from initial concept to face-to-face pitch
• Contribute to project delivery by anticipating challenges and taking corrective action
• Manage assignment knowledge capture to ensure it is accessible firm-wide
• Contribute as a thought leader through the development of intellectual capital, points of view, articles, and blogs
• Leverage deep knowledge of Mastercard Services capabilities to design innovative, integrated solutions
Experience and Skills Needed:
• Undergraduate degree required
• Track record of building trusted relationships at C-suite level through a consultative sales approach, using strong relationship management skills to create and convert pipeline opportunities in the market
• Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth by fostering lasting partnerships and clearly communicating value propositions
• Experience from a top-rated consulting or digital firm desirable, as is payments/banking expertise and experience helping financial institutions at the executive leadership level
• Entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, and strong commercial sense
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
• Ability to work on a team or independently
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proficiency in written and verbal Spanish and English
