Title and Summary
Manager, Software Engineering The Security Threat and Response Management (STRM) Engineering team is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering - Security Engineering & Automations, to build and maintain engineering solutions for security threats, and automate response capabilities using technologies such as SIEM and SOAR. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. This role requires a blend of highly developed technical skills, communication abilities, and cybersecurity experience to serve as a security liaison and engineer for Mastercard.In This Highly Visible Position, You Will:
• Collaborate with the Security Operations Center (SOC) and Corporate Security stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze, build, and maintain resilient automation solutions.
• Assess and improve SOC workflows and processes, integrating automation through SOAR tools, scripts, and standalone applications.
• Lead the definition, development, and delivery of major cross-department initiatives with broad scope and long-term implications.
• Partner with business and technical teams to identify opportunities, quantify costs, outline potential value, and assess risks and constraints.
• Drive strategic decisions and deliver innovative solutions in collaboration with the business.
• Present roadmaps and proposals to Senior Management and stakeholders, guiding decision-making.
• Develop roadmaps that align with the department's long-term strategy and vision.
• Implement processes and supporting tools tailored to organizational needs.
• Collaborate with network security, engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to build automation solutions via API calls to security appliances.
• Guide the team to ensure proper processes and documentation are in place.
All About You:
• Proficient experience in Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies.
• Proficiency in languages like Java, Python scripting, PowerShell, bash, KQL queries, or other scripting languages.
• Experience with Windows and Unix-based Operating Systems.
• Proven ability to implement methodologies emphasizing lean principles and high-efficiency solutions for productivity gains.
• Strong knowledge of security technologies (e.g., Intrusion Detection, Web Proxy, Antivirus, SIEM, Endpoint Detection, Vulnerability Management).
• Experience in vendor management, including vendor selection, RFI/RFP processes, and SOW.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in matrix-based teams and working with diverse, geographically distributed members.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey vision and roadmaps to stakeholders.
