Title and Summary

Manager, Product Development Overview

MDES, as a platform that enables payment cards to be digitized, fundamentally makes payments more secure.

Through a series of enhancements, we should be able to:
• Detect and measurably reduce fraud
• Provide a series of tools, and resources to reduce fraud
• Educate internal and external stakeholders

The Manager, Product Development – Fraud products will be responsible for bringing products that can detect and reduce the tokenized fraud risk working together with other fraud teams especially related with data analysis and fraud detection.

The Manager, Product Development – Fraud products needs to have knowledge not only of product management processes but also specifically with payment fraud and be proactive in terms of ideas to avoid financial and reputational losses due to fraud attacks.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g. Product Management – Technical, Software Development, Data Warehouse, Account Management) to design, develop and deliver new Products that drive incremental revenues for Mastercard, improve tokenized fraud detection, and help mitigate tokenization fraud
• Understands business context and market dynamics including Regulatory, Legal, Competitive and Technology landscapes
• Experience on using framework tools to frame ideas and develop concepts and prototypes to validate whether a market opportunity can be effectively monetized by Mastercard.
• Following successful Prototyping, leverages a thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle to partner with Product Management – Technical and Software Development Guilds to develop scalable Products for launch, ensuring that initial build effort concludes on time and budget
• Incorporates feedback from cross-functional stakeholders in Legal, Data Privacy, Delivery, Finance, Marketing, Sales, etc. to ensure that the new Product has a robust go-to-market plan focused on speed to market and ease of delivery
• Partners with Servicing teams to ensure that the new Product has a robust E2E servicing plan that enables a great end user and customer experience
• Partners with Product Management to Commercialize new Products, providing a seamless handover supported by a robust 18-month roadmap including CX, Revenue, and Product Quality enhancements
• Drive institutionalized knowledge through the use of consistent product documentation (e.g., support documents) across the STUDIO framework
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning by leveraging the learning & development curriculum to augment existing knowledge, skills and experiences
• Lead by example with hands-on approaches to demonstrate product management excellence and share best practices
• Demonstrate and drive Mastercard Way behaviours through their behaviour, (e.g. customer and stakeholder interactions)

Requirements
• Experience designing and implementing rapid prototyping for at least one regional/local product
• Experience in fraud detection, fraud reporting, fraud reduction/mitigation. Ideally an understanding of how OCGs develop fraud, the use of the dark net for attacks, Fraud as a Service, and the growing use of AI in fraud attacks
• Experience and knowledge of AI, and how that plays a role in both fraud creation, and fraud detection/mitigation
• Developed understanding of underlying platform capabilities and limitations by executing on features and enhancements
• Demonstrated expertise in managing the collection of market data, and contributing to the development of insights for input into product differentiation and competitive strategies
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to read and interpret data and discern between valuable and not relevant information
• Experience contributing data-driven product ideas that were accepted for development and/or enhancement by senior leaders
• Proficient Excel or any other worksheets software
• Ideally some experience of testing, and software quality
• Strong experience in fraud analysis and prevention in large scale financial systems
• Experience in card payments and/or digital payments/tokenization preferred
• Understands and can explain the business context and the associated customer use cases
• Verbal and written communication is clear and concise
• Improve team processes that accelerate product development, delivery, drive innovation, lower costs, and improve quality
