Title and Summary
Manager, Account Management-2 The Manager, Account Management is a key role within the Mastercard Direct Services team, responsible for a portfolio of key customers located in Caribbean and Central America emerging markets. This role involves developing a long-term business strategy with customers to grow Mastercard's portfolio share by promoting Mastercard's products and services across a broad spectrum.The Manager, Account Management serves as the single point of contact and is responsible for the customer's strategy, performance, and initiatives undertaken with MasterCard. This includes keeping colleagues and management updated on account status and collaborating on new opportunities with appropriate colleagues.
Role Responsibilities:
• Develop, manage, and reassess mid/long-term payment strategies for each customer.
• Expand the portfolio under management by growing existing products/services, winning over competition, and identifying new opportunities.
• Manage customer P&L, focusing on meeting key metrics (e.g., net revenue, volume, fees, services) and qualitative KPI (e.g., Voice of the Customer). Maintain dashboards, sales pipelines, and market intelligence to assist internal teams and Senior Management in decision-making.
• Proactively manage customer economics and negotiate contracts, providing timely feedback to internal teams to address any issues or opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Services, Marketing, Products, Customer Delivery) to identify new business opportunities and manage existing projects.
• Understand and assess specific market dynamics, key players, and activities to identify growth opportunities.
• Continuously expand personal knowledge and expertise to provide customers with the most up-to-date view of Mastercard's position in the global payment space.
Qualifications:
• The successful candidate should be commercially savvy, sales-driven, and comfortable during negotiations with customers.
• Ability to work under limited supervision, manage financial targets, and manage sales pressure.
• Experience developing relationships at executive levels and engaging in strategic conversations with C-level business partners.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to build complex customer sales pitches.
• Capability to gain support from internal Senior Management and colleagues in a matrix organization.
• Proven sales/customer-facing experience in financial services or consumer goods industry.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
• Prior knowledge of the Caribbean business environment is advantageous.
• Experience in card payments is highly desirable.
• Minimal travel expected (approx. 5-8%).
