Corporate Security is responsible for keeping Mastercard safe and secure from cyber and physical threats. We are a highly effective team protecting a major component of global payments infrastructure. Our Security Risk and Control Operations team is at the forefront of this effort in the “1st Line of Defense,” coordinating efforts across Corporate Security, enterprise risk management, and market-facing technology owners to assess risks, implement controls to mitigate them, and provide assurance to regulators and stakeholders that Mastercard is best-in-class in information security.

We are seeking a Lead Security Issue Manager to play a critical role on this team by driving documented shortfalls in security controls to resolution. You will apply your practical knowledge of technical controls and leverage data visualization tools to identify issues requiring the attention of asset owners and senior managers, and you will facilitate the disposition of issues in a workflow involving multiple stakeholders.

In this position, you will:

• Perform quality control over new issues submitted into the issues management system
• Engage with control owners, technology owners, and security engineers to drive actions that move issues to resolution
• Enforce corporate standards on issue and policy exception management
• Use data insights to identify issues requiring escalation to senior managers and coordinate the generation of associated agendas and materials
• Develop and deliver executive-level updates on the status of security issues and enterprise-wide trends
• Compose responses to regulators and auditors on queries regarding security issues
• Maintain documentation of issue management and analysis procedures

The ideal candidate for this position should be:

• Professionally certified in information security or a closely related vocation
• Experienced in handling information security issues arising from compliance reviews, control testing, and audits
• Knowledgeable of the general design and implementation of information security controls
• Literate in one or more cyber security frameworks, such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or the Cyber Risk Institute profile
• Adept at recognizing control shortfalls with the most significant risk implications for the business
• Familiar with RSA Archer or similar governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tools
• Proficient in using Domo, Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools to make sense of large volumes of data and using those insights to build executive-level products
• Insightful in developing and reporting metrics that drive decisions
• Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders in the business, including senior executives, product owners, and information security engineers

This position aligns with National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) competency proficiency levels of advanced to expert in the following areas:

• Data Management
• Legal, Government, and Jurisprudence
• Risk Management

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
