Title and Summary

HPE NonStop Platform Engineer II Overview:

The NonStop Platform Engineer II is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software / hardware solutions for the HPE NonStop Platform. This position will play a role in the operational support, documentation and implementation for development, test, and production application environments. The HPE NonStop Platform Engineer II will also support and maintain application software to internal and external customers in all environments. Troubleshoot and assist development and production operations groups as required. The ability to escalate complex issues where analysis of the situation requires in-depth evaluations and crucial decisions. The candidate will need a strong background in platform engineering, a passion for technology, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the stability, and performance of our Nonstop Platform, which supports critical business operations.

Role:

Drafts and reviews status reports and carries out project plans to ensure milestones and progress is met. Maintains support for the HP Nonstop platform hardware and software for multiple lines of online transaction processing businesses. Maintain 3rd party software on the Nonstop platform. Debug and troubleshoot software issues and provide root cause analysis and solutions. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, network engineers, and system administrators, to deliver cohesive and effective solutions. Implement and maintain security best practices to protect the platform from potential threats and vulnerabilities. Design, implement, and test software components for the NonStop Platform using C, C++, Java, or other programming languages. Learn and apply new technologies and tools to improve the NonStop Platform and enhance user experience. Provide technical support and guidance to customers and partners who use the NonStop Platform. Provide on call support for Nonstop test and production nodes on all environments.

All About You:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a combination of equivalent experience and formal training. Strong verbal and written communications skills, and excellent customer support capabilities. Self-motivated demonstrating strong organizational and listening skills; and very detail oriented with the ability to carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to consistently act in a professional manner and communicate with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally. Methodical problem resolving skills. Ability to follow process - Evaluate and propose process enhancements to drive efficiencies. The successful candidate does not need to possess HPE Nonstop skills but should minimally have Linux or Windows skills and a desire to learn.
