Title and Summary

Director, Platform Architecture Overview:
The Mastercard Cloud Team, in Mastercard's ONE division, owns and drives cloud strategy, adoption, and overall usage for the company. The team has a unique opportunity to drive cloud patterns, standards, and best practices across all of Mastercard and their M&A's. The cloud team has a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of an evolving landscape of technology at Mastercard and help shape the future of development, deployment and more!

About the Role:
• Drive cloud architectural patterns and standards. Where and when appropriate ensure alignment to those standards and best practices in an automated fashion
• Lead by example:
• Establish enterprise-wide standards for cloud application integration and identifies/ anticipates future requirements to support business needs
• Demonstrate a can-do/hands-on approach to demonstrate architecture excellence
• Mentor and guide product teams and fellow Cloud Architects to improve productivity, quality, and technology policy compliance
• Identify opportunities for reuse and improved efficiency
• Engage with IT and Business partners, product owners and stakeholders to create meaningful and transparent roadmaps to ensure the most Important work is properly prioritized
• Champion all Mastercard's standards and principles
• Actively participate as a member of the Architecture SIG: sharing your knowledge, best practices, ideas, and passion for technology
• Help Identify and drive meaningful behavior changing metrics

About You:
• 5+ years of Technical Leadership experience as both an Individual Contributor and/or a Team Manager/Director
• 5+ years of Architecting Public Cloud solutions (AWS, Azure and/or GCP)
• Cloud certifications and/or Architecture certifications desired
• Deep, applied knowledge of Architecting, Designing, Implementing products in a multi-cloud environment
• Solid foundational understanding of cloud security in highly regulated market segments and countries
• Familiar with needs and requirements for Operational support of Cloud deployments, a site reliability engineering (SRE)/Business Operations (BizOps) mindset and creating solutions that are resilient, supportable and observable
• Deep understanding of automation and observability using various cloud-based solutions and partners
• Proficient understanding of Kubernetes, including cloud provider based managed service offerings of Kubernetes
• Proficient understanding of containerization and designing ephemeral solutions
• Proven track record of delivering solutions to complex, multi-domain environments
• Ability to articulate complex designs and solutions to people with varying levels of technical aptitude
• Experienced in guiding less experienced Product teams, Engineers and fellow Architects to adopting more cloud-native design patterns and methodologies as well as driving general Organizational maturity
• Deep knowledge in migration from legacy technologies and mindset to the best-in-class solutions for the cloud
• Self-Driven and able to navigate complex organizational environments
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to negotiate alignment / buy-in on any solutions that will require cross functional support
• Help in analyzing and communicating the “trade-offs” when required
• Understanding of different project management methodologies and SDLC processes Including waterfall and Agile/Scrum

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
