Title and Summary

Director, Consumer Product Team and Role Overview

The Director, Consumer Product, is part of the Core Payments team. The individual will be responsible for leading the Consumer Product team and for overall performance of Mastercard's consumer product portfolios, including debit, credit and BNPL. This includes strategy setting, analysis and reporting, product development and management.

The roles will be accountable for driving transaction volume, profitable revenue growth, actively collaborating with internal teams across Mastercard as well as external parties – issuing customers, merchants, strategic partners and fintechs – to build unique customer and consumer value propositions.

Specifically, this role will require the ability to manage a small team, work independently, demonstrate thought-leadership, use influencing skills and innovative approaches to product development, underpinned by strong analytical capabilities.

Role

• Lead a positive and supportive team, and act as a Leader within the broader Core Payments and Consumer Solutions Centre teams.
• Drive product strategy by developing a deep understanding of the segment through benchmarking, competitive analyses, and research; regulatory understanding and engagement, and recommending best practices; and generating profitability analyses and business cases.
• Interpret and apply program vision and strategy to product strategy and roadmap for the Products they manage, clearly communicating it to key stakeholders on an ongoing basis
• Leverage data to quickly identify Product performance challenges, creating proactive plans to drive usage and revenues. Use data-driven analysis to prioritize resources and support Account Managers to deliver against the plan.
• Ensure that the broader Mastercard organization is enabled to sell focus Products by creating compelling communications & marketing content in partnership with Marketing
• Lead cross-functional teams (e.g. Product, Product Management-Technical, CX&D) in the development of business requirements to achieve Product objectives
• Work with the Account and Sales teams to build exciting customer pitches and presentations and deliver to customers.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships and cooperation with internal stakeholders and external customers to deliver on our business targets.
• Support in managing the lifecycle of existing partnerships and benefits.
• Develop talent and provide timely feedback, coaching in the moment, and mentoring
• Demonstrate and drive Mastercard Way behaviours through their behaviour, recognitions, coaching, and employee engagement.
