Overview:
The Digital Partnerships team, South Asia is looking for a Director, Business Development for the Digital Partnerships vertical based out of Mumbai, India. The role is responsible for managing key strategic partnerships across the Digital Ecosystem including (Tech Giants, Wallets, Marketplaces, Gig economy, OTT, Fintech as e.g.).
The role would require the candidate to,
• Position Mastercard as a preferred strategic technology and business partner
• Partner and execute large scale complex competitive commercial partnerships and strategic initiatives across multiple product domains
• Providing thought leadership, while managing expectations of local and global teams on all sides.
The KPI's for the individual and the team are towards deepening business relationships across the digital ecosystem and delivering top & bottom line objectives across multiple product lines.
Key Responsibilities:
Partnership Management:
Manage multiple relationships locally and Globally Internally and Externally in executing across the Digital ecosystem.
New Business Development:
We welcome business across domains and in all sizes, towards which a keen eye in sensing / reaching out to potential opportunities and prioritising them is a must.
These opportunities exist within existing and new partnerships and performance is measured in share gain with profitable business scale.
C Suite & multi domain engagement:
The role entails engaging founders and Senior management team members across Partnerships, Product & Technology, and finance roles across organizations in helping them appreciate the Mastercard Suite of products and services. We partner across teams to make seamless and safe payments happen for our customers while also engaging supporting business across diverse product lines.
Commercial and Legal:
The role involves extensive business modelling efforts and partnerships internally with finance locally and regionally in managing P&L's and engaging with legal teams in drafting contracts.
The candidate will also have to spend time negotiating complex contracts while managing expectations and creating a win for all sides.
Cross functional engagement:
Collaborates with the cross functional team members and country teams across domains to plan and execute account level product and business plans.
All about you:
An MBA, CA, or Masters in any subject with 11-14 Years of Work Experience.
1. A keen interest in the Digital payment's ecosystem in India. Strong written and communication skills with demonstrated ability to express a data backed viewpoint.
2. Experience in the Digital payments, lending / Digital shopping / Tech, Enterprise sales, consulting /Payment Product Management / Cloud biz/ Start-up, Fintech ecosystems. Existing relationships in relevant Digital partner verticals in India, an added advantage. Business development experience a must.
3. Sound Techno-commercial acumen and an understanding of key Digital vertical & dynamics.
4. Established track record of Achieving quantitative targets and building business relationships. Happy to operate with and without teams starting business partnerships from scratch, not afraid of getting hands dirty.
5. Demonstrated success in introducing existing and new/emerging Digital/Fintech solutions into various markets/segments and driving increased penetration with clients.
