Title and Summary
Director, Area Marketing Overview:The Head of Marketing and Communications for the COVEC Cluster is responsible for strengthening the consumer-facing and corporate brands in the region to all consumers , issuer and merchants constituencies and for leading the development of brand programs and assets to support Mastercard's brand and business objectives in Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Surinam & Guyana.
Role:
• Lead the definition, alignment and implementation of Marketing and Communications strategies in Cluster, including advertising, promotions, sponsorships, market research, etc., to align with business priorities and deliver against company objectives.
• Lead the planning process, balancing needs of stakeholders by generating constant dialogue and alignment with multiple functional areas such as Products, Services, Advisors, Sales and Country Managers, partnering with Cluster Manager and Regional IMC team when corresponding.
• Leading the development of multiple Integrated Marketing and Communication strategy and programs to drive business and brand results for consumer and corporate end-user segments.
- Focus on B2C and B2B Marketing strategy a, campaigns and activations for cardholders and partners (issuers, merchants, acquirers, government) building the brand and driving preference, customizing and creating campaigns.
• Focus on elevating ROI and analytics capabilities, with strong orientation to results and clear metrics (definition of success, goals and objectives) to track program performance, measures program performance, and makes recommendations based on results
• Responsible for the management of Mastercard's agencies (advertising, communications, media, digital and BTL) on creative strategy, development and execution; liaising with Regional IMC team when corresponding, for production/delivery of promotional marketing materials, including print, digital, Media plans and Comms related initiatives (internal and external).
• Leadership role in understanding key consumer, customer and overall industry trends and dynamics.
• Responsible for Marketing and Communications staff management, development and budget/expense management for working and non-working media, ensuring that all campaigns, programs and activities are within allocated budget.
• Supervises a group/team, ensures compliance to goal setting and performance appraisal processes, identifies and coaches top talent within own team
In addition, Partner Marketing responsibilities will include: -
• Lead the local Marketing Committees in each market.
• Identify and prioritize opportunities to leverage Mastercard and customer marketing assets at the customer-level to drive revenue growth.
• Prioritize customers' stated marketing needs and determine the appropriate areas of focus for Mastercard to define best mix of solutions, including Mastercard marketing assets that can drive revenue growth
• Application and customization of Mastercard consumer intelligence, brand, and other MasterCard marketing assets to customer level opportunities where appropriate.
• Active participation in customer planning process with Country Managers and Business Development teams to set marketing-related objectives, performance targets and requirements at a customer level.
• Provide marketing expertise to analysis of customers' cardholders and portfolio, recognizing opportunities for MasterCard, and provide the best customized solutions, which create long term customer value.
• Leverage in local markets global and regional deals with merchants.

• Delivering Relevant Consumer/Customer-led Strategies: Making consumers, issuers and merchants a primary focus of the business; based on deep understand to obtain actionable insights that can be used to develop initiatives that maximize long-term, profitable volume.
• Demonstrated success in building integrated marketing plans that leveraged synergies between marketing channels, with strong orientation to innovate by tapping into emerging technologies.
• Extensive experience and demonstrated success in one marketing family, with additional experience in two to three marketing/communication families, including B2B, PR or Consumer Marketing
• Experience in supervising, coaching, and motivating marketing teams

Other Experience/Education:
• Significant prior experience in brand development, strategic planning, digital and advertising at a consumer marketing organization and/or advertising agency.
• Proven leadership experience managing a staff of a minimum of 5 marketing professionals
• Proven ability to effectively and efficiently forecast, build, manage, analyze and optimize Marketing plans and budgets, with direct or indirect P&L responsibility.
• Strategic Partnering & effective leadership, negotiation and analytic skills.
• Medium expertise / understanding of issuer marketing specifically related to cardholder acquisition, activation, loyalty/utilization and retention
• Business to business marketing experience is a distinct advantage.
• Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.
