Ellison 12 is MGH's largest 36-bed medical inpatient unit. Our supportive leadership and team expertly provide quality medical and nursing care to a diverse mix of medically complex patients. It is a fast paced, high-energy unit. Day/night rotation including weekends and holidays required. - Patient population from young adults (age 18) to geriatric, the majority of patients are admitted with respiratory, cardiac, GI, end stage liver disease, cancer, and other medical conditions ranging from acute episodes to chronic. - Complex diagnoses such as Steven Johnson Syndrome, Calciphylaxis, acute on chronic congestive heart failure, patients requiring high flow oxygen, Bipap, acute hypoxemic respiratory failure, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleed, embolism, chest tube monitoring, diabetic complications, continuous bladder irrigation. - Provide monitored services such as antibiotic therapy, blood transfusions, insulin drips, diuretic drips, heparin drips, IVIG, and for stable patients transferred from the Intensive Care Unit requiring further nursing care Reasons to Choose MGH Ellison 12 - Medical, Dental and Vision insurance - Tuition Reimbursement - Generous paid time off - Subsidized MBTA pass (50% discount) - Resources for childcare and emergency backup care - Hospital paid retirement plan and tax-sheltered annuity plan - Employee “Perks” - enjoy discounts on tickets and passes for everything from ski resorts to museums to sporting events. Requirements for an Ellison 12 RN: - Current licensure in Massachusetts as a registered nurse is required. - BSN degree preferred. - One year of acute care experience is required, two or more years of recent acute care RN experience is strongly preferred. - New Grad RNs will not be considered for this position You contribute to our success.
