About Us Brigham and Women's Harbor Medical Associates, a member of Mass General Brigham Medical Group, is a multispecialty, primary care practice with more than 65 physicians. We have several offices across the South Shore and are affiliated with Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center, and South Shore Hospital. Our Float Pool Model Our Float Pool team is a group of employees who are specially trained and readily available to seamlessly assimilate and stabilize clinical operations within our practices. We cover gaps due to unexpected call outs, long-term leaves, planned vacations, staffing vacancies, etc. This is a unique opportunity to work autonomously to thetop of your education/certification while also functioning as part of a collaborative team. The ideal candidate profile is an adaptable RN who is confident in their clinical abilities and genuinely enjoys variety. We do our best to keep all employees with their preferred geographic regions/specialty areas; however, float pool employees must be able and willing to commute to any of our locations during orientation (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of fluctuating staffing shortages (for cross-coverage purposes). The Opportunity We are seeking a per diem RN to pick up a minimum of 2 – 8-hour shifts a month from 8:00am-5:30pm. We can be flexible on exact days based on employee availability. In this role, you would be expected to cover and travel to various practices across the South Shore. Towns/cities include: South Weymouth, Braintree, Hingham, Scituate, Pembroke, Duxbury, and Buzzards Bay. Responsibilities for the Float Pool RN include phone triage, handle patient interactions via telephone, provide advice in accordance with clinical protocols, and coordinate proper disposition. Calls are related to patient concerns, appointments, pre and post procedures, urgent care, inpatient admissions, prescription refills, and test results. In addition, this nurse is expected to also be hands on with patients including performing injections, IV infusions, vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy draws, patient education and medication administration. Qualifications The registered nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient. The registered nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care. When hiring, we look for candidates who possess not only relevant qualifications, skills, and competencies, but also positive attitudes, empathy, and genuine passion for the work. · Must be a licensed RN in Massachusetts · For newly licensed nurses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required · At least 2 years of experience as a RN required · Electronic Medical Record experience strongly preferred · Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is encouraged · Must show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients · Must demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities · Must be able to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills · Must demonstrate effective skills in applying departmental standards in area of service, team work, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management
