Position Summary Under general supervision instructs land and aquatic group fitness classes. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care. Position Responsibilities Unit Specific Position Responsibilities Plans and leads group fitness classes; including land and aquatic. Orient new participants to class. Ensure all equipment is properly used during class, and cleaned and properly put away after class. Offers input into class structure, content, and schedule. Communicates schedule to Group Fitness Coordinator. Communicates schedule to Group Fitness Coordinator. Receives and forwards participant suggestions to Group Fitness Coordinator. Stays current on fitness research and trends. Maintains positive public relations with all participants. Maintains safe exercise environment for participants. Available to substitute for other instructors. Other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge # Experience Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education): Organizational Requirements: Maintain stroke education per regulatory requirements. # Preferred Qualifications: Fitness industry certification (A.C.E., A.C.S.M., N.S.C.A.). # Required Knowledge, Skills # Experience: At least 6 months experience instructing group fitness. Skill in effective oral and written communication in English. Skill in communicating with the public. Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently to carry out work and assigned tasks. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence others. # Preferred Knowledge, Skills # Experience: One year of experience in the field of fitness instruction
