Real Estate Asset Management Financial Analyst

Naperville, Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid)

Marquette Companies is seeking an Asset Management Financial Analyst. This position will be an integral member of the asset management team responsible for establishing and directing asset investment strategy, investor reporting, financial forecasts and budgets, valuation analysis, management and leasing efforts, and capital analysis for the companys real estate portfolios and individual properties. The analyst will monitor operations, perform real estate analysis, create or review projections, generate return analysis, and conduct market research.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor property-level and portfolio-level operations
  • Underwrite and analyze potential capital improvement projects, including unit renovations
  • Gather, evaluate, and track economic, demographic, and real estate market data and conduct research to support key assumptions
  • Support other members of the asset management team with regular and ad hoc reporting including preparation and/or review of budgets, business plans, quarterly investor reporting, and other reporting
  • Assist with preparation of internal and external presentations and related support material
  • Generate analysis for potential dispositions
  • Coordinate disposition due diligence with property management, brokers and third parties
  • Support acquisition due diligence
  • Assist with transition of assets from acquisitions to asset management and property management
  • Support financing activities
  • Support development activities
  • Participate in property and market inspections

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or real estate from an accredited institution
  • 2+ years of experience in real estate, multi-family experience a plus
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., modeling of sensitivity tables, waterfalls, portfolio analysis, various ownership structures, multi-tiered waterfalls), Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong research and presentation skills
  • Well organized with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem-solver and learner seeking to contribute to areas beyond direct scope of responsibility
  • Capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing across various projects and deadlines
  • Independent and self-motivated, but able to function well in a collaborative environment
