The Department of Radiology at Los Angeles General Medical Center is seeking clinical faculty in Diagnostic Radiology for the following subspecialities – Abdominal, Cardiothoracic, Emergency, Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, Women's, Nuclear Medicine. In addition to clinical services, candidates will be involved in trainee education, research, and other creative endeavors.
About the Department of Radiology
The Department of Radiology at Los Angeles General Hospital (LAG) is seeking clinical faculty in Interventional Radiology (IR) for a 100% IR position. In addition to clinical services, this individual will be involved in trainee education, trainee education, research, and other creative endeavors. Radiology at LA General is a busy clinical service providing clinical modalities and sub- specialty areas, including interventional radiology. The faculty provides precepting to residents and fellows as well as their own clinical services. The patient population is ethnically diverse and characterized by high acuity patients, and often advanced and urgent imaging needs. Patients are also seen for inpatient and outpatient interventional radiology consultation. Imaging services are provided in both inpatient and outpatient settings, service multiple patient populations and nearly all specialties. Research and clinical trials have been rare but are a high priority for the future. The department supports the training of diagnostic and interventional radiology residency programs, with 45 active residents. Additionally, LA General is home to several fellowships with involvement by radiology that include: interventional radiology, neuroradiology, and nuclear med. LAG (formerly LAC+USC) is the largest hospital in the Los Angeles Department of Health Service (DHS) system, and one of the largest public safety net hospitals in the country. It is a 600-bed level 1 trauma center that has been in existence since 1878, currently serving 10 million patients each year.
Reporting Relationship: Will report to Service Chief of Interventional Radiology
Compensation: $366,120 – 490,832
Position Requirements:
- Candidates must have an MD, DO or equivalent degree
- Candidates must be board-certified or board eligible in Interventional Radiology (IR) and Diagnostic Radiology
- Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California
- Candidates must have a current/pending California Fluoroscopy license
- 100% IR position with some diagnostic interpretation of one of the nations' largest teaching hospitals at a single site, which is conveniently located on a medical campus adjacent to downtown Los Angeles
