Description

The radiology department at Riverside University Health System (RUHS) has an opening for a board certified thoracic radiologist.

This position is available within the Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Radiology affiliation with Riverside University Health System.

Located in the heart of beautiful Southern California in the area known as the Inland Empire, the hospital is situated conveniently halfway between Los Angeles and Palm Springs. Our location places us within one hour of surfing at the beach, camping in the desert, skiing in the mountains, or catching a play in Los Angeles. There are six major airports within an hour's drive.

The ideal candidate would be interested in a mix of imaging studies with 30-40% thoracic imaging and include expansion of existing conferences and rotations to include Pulmonary Medicine fellows. Currently, quarterly lectures to family and internal medicine residents are given. Responsibilities would include development and QA for thoracic imaging protocols for a new medical/surgical clinic with 3T MRI and PET/CT. A radiology residency is planned to begin in 2022. Mammography and procedural skills are not required but available if desired.

The candidate will provide 13 weeks of call coverage for fluoroscopic studies, weekend film reading and equal share of holiday coverage with the team. Currently coverage includes an average 1-2 shifts per week from home with hours 7am – 4pm or 11am – 8pm and the remainder on site from 8am - 5pm. There is no scheduled work after 8pm or before 7am. Back up coverage is available whenever required.

Riverside University Health System (RUHS) is a 439-bed University-affiliated teaching hospital with over 60 hospital-based primary and specialty care clinics located in Moreno Valley. This facility has been named a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, is working towards being a Level I Trauma Center, is a new Center of Excellence for Research and is a Primary Stroke Center.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $375,000- $500,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
