Job Summary

Performs neurodiagnostic studies to include; electroencephalograms (EEG's), extended EEG's, LTEM (Long Term Epilepsy Monitoring) and nerve conduction studies' (NCS's) utilizing various monitoring equipment and recording observations to collect diagnostic patient data to aid in the diagnosis of neurological and neuromuscular diseases and disorders.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Neurodiagnostics Technologist.
Minimum Years of Experience: 1 years of previous work experience in neurodiagnostics.
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): None
Required Certifications/Licensure: Certification by the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (ABRET) as a Registered EEG-T;
Infant/Child and Adult BLS.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Adheres hospital and departmental dress code. 
  • Demonstrates competence to provide developmentally appropriate care/treatment for all patient populations.  
  • Performs all neurodiagnostic procedures per physician order accurately, timely and in accordance with departmental policy and procedures. 
  • Utilizes, maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots all equipment to ensure proper function. 
  • Orients new staff and serves as preceptor and resource to EEG Technicians.
  • Performs the duties of supervisor in his/her absence. 
  • Monitors quality of tests performed through peer reviews, provides feedback and identifies opportunities for improvement. 
  • Embodies those behaviors, philosophies and values which service to uphold the ideals and enhances the image of Lexington Medical Center.
  • Works in cooperative manner which foster favorable relations between employees, Patients, Patients families, visitor, fellow employees and the medical staff. Maintains CEU's as required by credentials and / or accrediting bodies.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
