Lexington Oncology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join a thriving practice of nine esteemed physicians and eight advanced practice providers.
Lexington Oncology, an employed group within the Lexington Medical Center network of care, operates out of a 60,000 sq.ft. space, spread over two floors on Lexington Medical Center's main campus. The state–of–the–art clinic features 47 rooms, including 40 standard exam rooms and 7 procedural rooms. There is a fully staffed central laboratory and in-house radiology team on the clinical floor. Onsite are 7 phlebotomists and 4 shared nursing stations. Each station has desk RNs who handle prescription refills, FMLA, and cancer treatment schedules. Lexington Oncology is committed to providing the highest quality of care by offering cutting edge equipment that includes a 64 slice CT scanner and a 5 ring PET scanner, both from GE.
Lexington Oncology also has an onsite infusion suite with 48 infusion chairs and 4 private rooms, open to patients Monday – Thursday 7:30AM – 4:00PM and half days on Fridays, as well as an in-house, dispensing pharmacy where patients fill supportive and oral chemotherapy prescriptions. We offer technologically advanced, holistic, personalized care as we work to treat not just cancer, but all symptoms of the disease.
Lexington Medical Center's Oncology program has been awarded the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer the Cancer Center of Excellence and is 1 of only 6 groups in the state of South Carolina to be Quality Oncology Practice Initiative certified.
Position Highlights:
- The weekly schedule will be a mix of managing the outpatient clinic, seeing 50% hematology and 50% oncology, with an average 1 in 10 week shared service inpatient call schedule.
- Clinical research is welcomed, where all physicians have a hand in at least one trial across all major disease sites.
- Three times a week, physicians attend multi-disciplinary tumor conferences for weekly general and breast cancer with alternating bi-weekly lung nodule and genitourinary conferences.
- The practice has 8 oncology trained APPs and 1 dedicated inpatient APP to support physicians during their call week of shared service.
