  • At least 2 years of critical care experience

  • Outstanding communication skills and has a true understanding of the patient experience
    Schedule Information
  • Day Shift – 1 charge (charge nurse takes patients) and 2 nurses. No CNA's, no monitor techs.
  • Night Shift -1 charge (charge nurse takes patients) and 2 nurse. No CNA's, no monitor techs.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Must arrive on time for their shift. Report starts at 1845, must be in the unit by 1840
  • Must have a positive attitude, negativity not allowed
  • Must be willing to float to other units with a positive attitude
  • Pt's are rounded on every hour utilizing the SAFETY Round acronym
  • Bedside report is given at the change of the shift with the patient and family involved in the report process at the bedside
  • Cannot leave the hospital for lunch. Must stay on hospital premises for lunch.
  • Smoke free campus
  • Awards/Recognition: Unit of Distinction honorable mention 2 years in a row, Pathway recognized facility
    Additional Details
  • Number of Beds - 8
  • Number of Staff – 12
  • Patient Ratios – 2:1, at times 3:1 (we do not have a PCU unit so we are often able to group 3 PCU pt's together)
  • Type of equipment - GE monitors, Pyxis medication administration, Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, Puritan Bennett Vents
  • EMR – Meditech- assessments every 4 hours, notes every 2 hours, VS every 1 hour if not more often.
  • Preferred or nice to have: Wiliness to float to other units to help out, PALS
  • List typical procedures performed on unit(s): Intubation, CVP monitoring, Arterial line monitoring, ETOH and opioid detox
  • Best personality Fit: Enjoys working in a small rural hospital, willing to be flexible, Compassionate and accountable
  • Dress Code: Scrub Color - Navy, No Patterns allowed
