Job Summary

The position is responsible for oversight of the analysis, design, development, and implementation of new and existing systems and sub-systems, including defining system specifications and supporting hardware. The role includes oversight of the design and development of test programs, reviewing requirements, developing modification files as well as test procedures, and ensuring products meet performance standards through thorough evaluation and debugging. This individual will independently manage and supervise a technical engineering team, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities also include managing design budgets and schedules, contributing to proposals, and clearly communicating with internal teams and customers. Regular participation in engineering and business meetings is expected.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversight of the analysis, design, development and implementation of new and/or existing systems/sub-systems.  May include Architectural Design, Requirements Engineering, or others.  Determine system specifications.  Support acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed). 
  • Oversight of the design and development of test programs to measure the functionality and integrity of products and services. Oversee the documentation and implementation of test procedures and protocols to assess product reliability and evaluates the ability of products to meet performance standards and specifications. Debug test hardware and software. 
  • Responsible for supervising and managing a team of systems and testing engineers on responsibilities and activities
  • Ability to supervise a technical group independently 
  • Manage budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
  • Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • Participate in preparation of proposals
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
  • Occasional travel
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience

U.S. Citizenship required. This position may require an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

 

The expected pay scale for this position is $146,497/year - $227,436/year. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate's relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
