Job SummaryJoin our Danbury, CT team as a Senior Manager Supply Chain responsible for quality, delivery, and cost of procured materials for use in various electronic systems on naval ships and submarines.
What You Will Do- Manage a multi-discipline team and clearly communicate departmental goals and metrics
- Assist in the development of forecast/requirements for Supply Chain
- Assist in developing and implementing strategy; create Strategic Supplier Purchase Agreements
- Determine and recommend new suppliers and implement transition plans
- Monitor metrics and take action as appropriate
- Review open requisitions weekly and meet with appropriate buyers on the open requisitions
- Coordinate with Engineering and Quality on a team approach to supplier assessments and approval
- Advise planning, engineering, and drafting of item master errors, updates, or omissions as well as changes in prices or lead times in relation to mil-specs or new or obsolete items
- Expedite critical components to ensure on-time deliveries
- Look for creative ways to improve purchasing ability to make contributions to the company's goals
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in high technology, aerospace or defense + experience with leading a team of direct reports in a related area
- Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management tools and procedures
- Demonstrated management skills, particularly influence management and conflict resolution
- Experience throughout the product lifecycle from New Product Introduction through obsolescence to include: generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, strategic supplier selection, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including implementation for cost reduction and performance improvement efforts
- Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and DoD, ITAR, EAR, FAR, DFAR regulations
- A problem-solver, a strong negotiator, and customer focused
- Demonstrated success in managing manpower planning, program reviews, scheduling and budget control
U.S. Citizenship required. This position may require an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
