Job SummaryJoin our Menomonee Falls, WI team of talented Engineers as a Mechanical Engineering Manager. We are looking for an engaged, hands on leader to manage a team of Mechanical Engineers involved in the design, fabrication, and modification of mechanical and electro-mechanical components and systems for Navy ships and applications.
What You Will Do- Responsible for supervising a team of engineers focused on a variety of activities to be completed on time and within budget
- Lead and conduct a team during new design and development with a focus on mechanical analysis for shock and vibration of aluminum and steel structures, thermal studies, fluid systems, electronic packaging, and model-based engineering
- Evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or services
- Investigate solutions to product or process problems
- Manage budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
- Participate in preparation of proposals
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field + at least 8 years of experience in product development and design
- Proven track record of managing a team of Engineers
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Understanding of DoD; experience with the US Navy is highly preferred
- Experience with power conversion and power distribution technology and their use in drive systems, switchgear, and energy storage systems
- Candidates must be US citizens (no dual citizenship) and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
