Assists the Patient Safety Officer in operational responsibilities including analyzing event data, computer entry, and report generation. Ensures patient safety issues, analysis, and control strategies are utilized in the implementation of these daily activities.
Job Duties
- Reviews medical records.
- Reviews all safety reports including analysis and evaluation of significant events.
- Monitors events for compilation into the database for trend analysis to pinpoint areas requiring patient safety intervention.
- Performs regulatory requirements retrieving reports, data, or events.
- Assists in meeting/contributing to regulatory requirements.
- Analyzes and evaluates the identification, assessment, and correction of safety issues through tracking/trending of safety reports.
- Ensures proper reporting to the Department Of Health for serious events, incidents, and infrastructures in accordance with Act 13.
- Completes manual submissions to PA-PSRS as per guidance from the Patient Safety Authority and Department of Health.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Knowledge of computer applications.

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
