The Sanitation Technician will be responsible for ensuring equipment is sanitary, floors& drains are clean and maintained. Maintain appropriate level of cleanliness throughout the facility with cleaning equipment and chemicals, according to SSOPs. Assist in Performing CIP's of all production equipment, product lines, tanks, etc. as needed. This role reports to the QA Supervisor and is based out of our Hendersonville, North Carolina location.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure plant cleanliness, which includes removing bins of trash from blending and production areas, bins of empty drums from batching area, emptying small recycling containers into appropriate large container, operate floor scrubber throughout blending and production areas
- Assist in clean-up of any juice spills, support production with change overs or other tasks as requested and time permits.
- Perform sanitation processes covered by the Master Sanitation Cleaning Schedule and by Department Manager, complete assigned tasks from the monthly Food Safety/Housekeeping Audit/Complete corrective actions as assigned from internal/external audits and inspections.
- Work with production to perform week-ending cleaning procedures that includes CIP's of filler/pasteurizers, exterior foaming of entire production line, ATP swab testing after cleaning, can line valve and piston greasing.
- Perform detail cleaning of labelers, filler, etc. as needed
- Responsible for accurate cleaning records in accordance with SSOP's
- Once adequately trained, assist in training new employees.
- Responsible for facility cleaning and sanitation processes
- Assist in performing monthly food safety and housekeeping audits
- Monitor Chemical inventories – report to QA supervisor when items are running low
- Responsibility for ensuring that chemicals are properly labeled and stored and that the chemical cage is kept orderly and clean at all times
- Monitor and fill as needed hand soap, hand sanitizer and paper towel dispenser throughout the facility.
- This role will be required to taste test product as needed, up to a couple ounces per test
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to learn lab elated responsibilities
- Ability to work independently
- Detail oriented and able to multi task
- Forklift certification
- Three months manufacturing experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the food/beverage industry or GMP environment
- Prior experience using industrial grade chemicals, CIP's and basic housekeeping background
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to direct, coach, and train others
