Job Title: Bulk Receiver

Reports to: Supervisor, Processing

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Seabrook, New Jersey

Direct Reports: N/A

In the event this individual is not on-site the Processing Supervisor will be responsible for the Food Safety and Food Quality program. The Processing Supervisor will be responsible for food safety and food quality checks, in the event the Bulk Receiver is not on site.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Bulk Receiver reports to the Processing Supervisor and is based out of our Seabrook, New Jersey location. This individual will be responsible for receiving bulk materials and is the primary contact for railroad service and coordinates rail deliveries. Employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to adjust to changes rapidly; attention to detail is crucial in this position.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job)

Responsibilities include:

  • Works in a safe manner following all PPE requirements.
  • Capable of reading and making changes on computer touch screens
  • Has the knowledge and ability to CIP silos and lines as needed or dictated by Supervisor
  • Must be trained and capable of working with cleaning agents as needed for the CIP system
  • Empty and clean large trash carts
  • Must work closely with Quality Assurance personnel to obtain” inspect ok “for ingredients
  • Must have troubleshooting abilities
  • Must be able to clean the juice totes using the automated tote cleaning system
  • Has the ability to fill- in for the Assistant Batcher as needed
  • Adhere to GMP and housekeeping standards
  • Crush drums as needed
  • Maintain an Audit Ready Work Area at all times
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
  • Adhere to and promote a culture of food safety and quality by understanding your roles and responsibilities in all food safety and quality-related tasks
  • Perform all tasks with a Safety/Food Safety first mindset
  • This role will be required to taste test products as needed, up to a couple of ounces per test.
  • All other duties as assigned

 

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of computers and capable of entering information
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Communicate clearly with others
  • Read and understand temperature devices
  • Successfully complete and maintain the LPC Forklift Certification
  • Properly fills out all required documentation
  • Aware of all safety procedures
  • A complete understanding of plant raw material requirements
  • Must be able to write legibly
  • Must be able to climb ladders Up and Down)
  • Must be able to climb on top of railcars
  • Must lift up to 50lbs
  • Must possess strong math and reading skills

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the food/beverage industry 
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing or production environment 
  • Ability to direct, coach, and train others.
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.

 

FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

 

OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.

 

VISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.

 

HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
