POSITION SUMMARY
The Boiler/Wastewater Operator works at the direction of the Facility Maintenance Supervisor. to support continuous boiler and wastewater treatment operations through equipment monitoring and laboratory analysis. A thorough understanding of basic chemistry, intermediate mathematics, industrial mechanics, and safe work practices is required to be a successful Boiler/Wastewater Operator. This position requires periodic inspections of the boilers and monitoring of the wastewater facility as well as laboratory analysis of water samples for the boilers and wastewater to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Must have a minimum of a “Blue Seal” NJ boiler operator's license.
- Knowledge of boiler operations and ability to comprehend wastewater treatment operations.
- Understand and comply with plant safety rules and requirements that include proper Machine Guarding Safety, Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures, Hazard Communication, Fork-Lift Safety, Personal Protection Equipment, Confined Space Entry, etc.
- Perform periodic inspections and record data as assigned per shift.
- Collect samples for analysis as assigned per shift.
- Make necessary adjustments to equipment to ensure proper operating procedures.
- Keep an accurate and legible log of daily activities.
- May be required to troubleshoot equipment and make repairs to PVC piping, pumps, boilers, air compressors, etc.
- Required to perform preventative maintenance on, air compressors, boilers, pumps, blowers, etc.

- Hold an NJ license in high-pressure boiler operations.
- Must successfully complete and pass forklift safety training.
- Operational knowledge of boilers, air compressors, and pumps.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.
FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in the area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).
OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
VISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
