As Senior Process Engineer at Kraton you work together with a seasoned team of experts in the chemical manufacturing field. You will collaborate with a lot of different functions in both our EU headquarters in Netherlands and with the plants.
 

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the position include: 
 

  • Process Engineering deliverables, e.g. Engineering Front End Loading. Determine Process Engineering scope, budget, and timeline of projects.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems, with limited guidance and based on data analysis. Influx Process Engineering Expertise.
  • Lead and/or participate in technical meetings concerning specific initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Commercial and Research & Development. 
    • Interaction with internal personnel on sites, at various management levels, concerning operations or specific phases of projects.
    • Assist with Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence.
    • Act as Process Development partner for R&D product development.
Required Skills

 

The following are important skills, which would be required to have:

  • 8+ years of experience in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with batch as well as continuous manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of engineering standards as relates to chemical processes.
  • Applies technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Specify new equipment based on engineering calculations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) in English.

 

The following are additional skills, which would be beneficial to have:

  • Process Engineering experience in the (Petro-)chemical industry.
  • Experience in simulation modeling tools, such as Aspen™ Modelling.
  • Process Safety knowhow, e.g. HAZOP, LOPA, Burner Management.
  • Process Control skills, e.g. writing process control functional specifications.
  • Additional language, e.g. Swedish, Finnish, French, and / or German.

Education, Certifications & Licenses
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering as minimum.
  • Master's degree in engineering preferred.
  • A degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred.
