The Senior Payroll Coordinator is responsible for overseeing our payroll processes for our internal organization. They will work and provide operational support within our department and service as a back to the Payroll Manager.   

  

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Processing the bi-weekly and semi-monthly multi-state payroll that consist of 700+ employees.
  • Processing garnishments  that are consistent with federal,  state,  and hourly wage laws..Supporting the continued development of systems, processes, and metrics to identify opportunities to improve
  • Building and maintaining knowledge management tools such as wikis and shared drives
  • Create management reports for payroll, finance and management team.
  • Actively communicate with Finance, local HR and Plant administration to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
  • Act as point of contact for all payroll related questions for both employees and HR
  • Vendor management and system set-up responsibility for payroll, time and attendance systems.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing of new hires, transfers, promotions and terminations and other payroll related changes
  •  Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for accurate financial reporting with regards to the financial impact related to payroll administration (GL postings, accruals, reconciliations etc.) and support internal and external audits (SOX, governmental, etc.)
  • Other projects as assigned by management
Required Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years' Payroll experience
  • Experience  with multi-state payroll processing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present clear and well-documented findings and recommendations.

  • Solid analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Integrity
  • Pro-active/priority setting/time management skills
  • Proficient Excel Skills
  • Experience with Dayforce, UKG, and/or Success Factors preferred
Education, Certifications & Licenses
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting required
  • Communication skills verbal and written
