The Technical Process engineer is supporting the Project engineering, Manufacturing and Maintenance departments on information collection on sources, that are available for instance from different process control systems, process/equipment information documentation and Piping & Instrumentation diagrams.

The Process engineer manages evaluation on current and new processes, product development and applications together other functional organizations at Oulu plant and globally with Kraton Chemical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process improvement activities across the regional assignments (milestones, timelines, capabilities, strategic decisions, etc.) and applies technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, working with other organizations at Oulu plant and with other Kraton Chemical sites.
  • Will solve complex operating issues through collaboration with peers, and the assistance of direct reports or next management.
  • Will manage small to intermediate projects, when seen reasonable and defines the scope and objectives of projects based on operational needs.
  • Take part of developing technology competencies within Oulu plant teams to support the functional organization projects within assigned area.
  • Engage actively in external stakeholders, partners and university interactions as needed and monitor technology trends and assess competitive technologies and products.
Required Skills
  • 3-5 years' experience of manufacturing processes of Oulu plant.
  • Exhibit corporate values and demonstrated ability to lead and supervise local evaluation team and have healthy interaction with other department teams.
  • Initiates own personal development, both technical and personal skills.
  • Create and implement new ideas that positively influence own working environment.
  • Recognizes opportunities for cross-training and knowledge sharing
  • Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional, multi-national and diverse backgrounds, both internally and externally with appreciation of thought and cultural diversity.
  • Must be able to discuss in detail, the scientific basis of an experimental approach to internal/external stakeholders.
  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management.
  • PC literate, knowledge of several software as minimum MS Excel, Word and Outlook required.

Education, Certifications & Licenses
  • Master's degree in Technology/Chemistry or related field required.
  • University degree on Technology/Chemistry or related field required with 3-5 years' experience working on process industry.
